GENERAL:
M-LYS flourescent lighting fixtures have been specially designed and manufactured to withstand the extreme environments and applications found in today's wind turbine towers, nacelles, and hubs. These fixtures are available in two sizes and include pre-installed T-8 type lamps. Each standard fixture is equipped with a universal, low loss, cold start ballast that will function down to a low -25C (-13F).
Outstanding design using quality materials and construction were paramount in our quest to provide the market with the light fixture it really needs and really wants. No more concerns about cold climate operation, emergency lighting function, liquid ingress, vibration, shock, or corrosion as these feature packed light fixtures will perform to the highest level at the best value available…….period!
HOUSING:
Constructed of high impact molded polycarbonate, these fixtures by design are modern looking and exceptionally durable, even in cold climates. There are multiple wiring entry knockouts provided to facilitate installation flexibility. Heavy duty stainless steel mounting clamps are designed to provide very secure installations of these light weight fixtures in both vertical and horizontal applications making them very suitable for all wind turbine applications. The mounting feature design requires “no holes” to be added for installation, assuring a true NEMA 4X liquid ingress rating, and complete housing integrity during operation.
LENSES:
These very durable and impact resistant lenses are designed with features that provide outstanding light disbursement, and simplified servicing. The hinged lens and captivated clips make replacing lamps fast and efficient. Clips and lenses being dropped down tower are now a thing of the past. When closed, the lens compresses onto the factory installed hot bonded silicon seal in the housing to form an efficient environmental seal having an IP65 ingress protection rating.
EMERGENCY LIGHTING:
M-LYS lighting fixtures may be optionally equipped with our high performance emergency ballast and NiCad battery packs. Under a full charge, these option equipped fixtures will provide greater than ninety (90) minutes of minimal illumination consistent with (EN 50308), providing personnel time to evacuate their locations.
COLD CLIMATE:
When cold climate operation is a requirement, (<-25C for standard universal ballasts, and < -0C for emergency ballasts and battery packs), our optional thermostatically controlled, 40 watt heating element can be factory installed to either fixture to assure both standard and/or emergency lighting functions are functional in these cold climate conditions.
